Jucatorul lui Feyenoord a parasit mai devreme antrenamentul de vineri al olandezilor acuzand dureri in zona genunchiului.In zilele imediat urmatoarea se va cunoaste cu siguranta cat de grava este problema fundasului si daca acesta poate sau nu sa evolueze in meciurile Campionatului European.
Olanda nu va putea conta mai mult ca sigur pe serviciile lui de Cler in ultimul meci de verificare inaintea turneului final, cu Tara Galilor, de duminica, 1 iunie 2008.
De Cler, in varsta de 30 de ani, a debutat la echipa nationala in vara lui 2005, intr-un meci impotriva Germaniei. A bifat pana acum 10 prezente in tricolul Olandei, a facut parte din lotul deplasat de Van Basten la Cupa Mondiala din Germania, a evoluat la Ajax si AZ Alkmaar, iar in prezent joaca pentru Feyenoord.
